I humbly acknowledge that I live, work and grow on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish, Suquamish, Stillaguamish and Muckleshoot people. As a descendent of enslaved Africans and Indigenous Pacific Islanders, I grieve for the land that was stolen, the lives that have been cut short and the bitter oppression that my Indigenous relatives continue to face. I am deeply grateful for the Coast Salish people - their resilience, their teachings, their stewardship and their beauty. I am committed to learning from them and this land that sustains all of us. I will continue doing what I can to be a part of our shared healing and liberation.
