But What if We Grieve Together?

  • Mount Baker Community Club 2811 Mount Rainier Drive South Seattle, WA, 98144 United States (map)

Please join Neshia as she presents this engaging workshop as part of the Central Branch Preschool Speaker Series. Caregivers in Western culture often feel pressure to hide, rush or find "joy" in their grief for fear of traumatizing the children in their lives. But what if we grieved together? Come as you are to gently explore how our cultures, artistic expressions and a more collective understanding of mourning can create safer, braver ways of facing experiences of death and loss - as grown-ups and with the children that we love.

We will look at common questions children ask around grief, how developmental stages impact mourning and how adult self-awareness can make a big difference.

This event is free and open to the community. While the workshop is intended for adults, babes in arms are welcome. Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
